These are a day one purchase for me if available on actual pressed CDs.
If that doesn't happen, I'll relent but I won't be happy about it!

Very cool. Thanks for the heads up. Would have been nice to have released it this way from the start or as another box set but I guess better late than never. Wonder how many they will sell because most die hards that didn't have it all would have probably bought the downloads already. I think in the three volumes there are only two tracks on volume three that I didn't have before.

I saw a listing somewhere that this was going to also be released on vinyl for Record Store Day.

This has been on Spotify for some time now. I think since last year. Interestingly enough, I read a review where it states that Bun E annotates it. Question: is this an authorized Cheap Trick release? It doesn't seem like they are promoting it any. I thought Bun was against outlets outside of the band releasing their music.
And with all the loves and hates and passions just like mine...

I think the original digital release in 2015 through Sony was official but maybe not authorized if that makes sense. With the new album about to drop in June they really don't want to promote this since it's all archive material. But with Bun doing the liner notes and the band inserting 100 signed photos, by the original line up, in the RSD vinyl I would say it has their blessing more so this time around.

So this is going to Cheap Trick's contribution to RSD vinyl?

RSD has come and gone. Vol. 1 was released as a limited edition of 2,200 vinyl copies. One hundred of them containing what they called a "Golden Ticket. A 1977 promo photo autographed by the four original band members. I' know of four people so far that got one. I'm debating wether or not I should open mine.

The CD on Amazon.com was only $15 (£11.62). In Canada (Amazon.ca) it's $26 because it's an import (£20), so it's about the same as you're paying in the UK.

It's great that this came out on cd---
I like that it is presented in chronological order, it is cool to see the evolution of the band thru an alternative set of tunes . bun e's notes are always of interest.
I am surprised that it is so expensive, it is the highest priced non-import single cd that I have purchased....ever. that is the label's decision, if they release the other volumes I will still buy, but it's weird.
Missing is the live whisky version of Big Eyes that came out on a collection of live tracks by various sony artists. it is sad that this track was orphaned...
