Rick on lead vocals
okay, so let's do some inventory on rick's "lead" vocals on songs that have been officially (and unofficially) released.

1. "i dig go-go girls" - rick and robin split the lead vocals.
2. "he's a whore" - rick sings the call and response with robin on the chorus, although you can hear tom singing the lower octave on the first half.
3. "dream police" - rick on the bridge.
4. "next position please" (dream police outtake) - tom, robin, and rick all sing a couple of verses.
5. "world's greatest lover" - rick sings the guide vocal on the version that ended up on the box set.
6. "little sister" - rick sings the lines "ooh, i like it when you talk dirty to me."
7. "bite it" (live) - rick used to sing this.
8. "ramblin' rose" (live) - ditto.
9. "eight miles low" - rick sings the "scream to dream" parts.
10. "oh, claire" - rick sings the intro verse.
11. "one more" - rick sings the response to robin on the verses.
12. "it's up to you" - rick sings/speaks the first two lines on each verse.
13. "baby talk" - rick sings the bridge.

am i missing anything?

RE: Rick on lead vocals
i would not consider that a "lead" vocal.  i am talking "solo" vocal, to be more precise.

I recall hearing a demo version of "The House Is Rockin'" with Rick on lead vocals at one of the Trickfests. I think "It Must Be Love" as well.

He really doesn't have a bad voice; just doesn't look the part of a lead singer.

RE: Rick on lead vocals
i am trying to keep this limited to officially and unofficiallly (eg, bun e's bootlegs, album session outtakes) released songs.  there are a gazillion demos that feature rick singing, but as those demos feature songs in progress, many of which featured robin doing the lead vocals on the finished product, i have not included them.

picky, picky - i know!

"Fortune Cookie" is on SACT. Is it Rick on vocals on that one or not? Haven't listened to it in years.

Didn't Rick plan on a solo album in the early 80s? I wonder if that was the case if he intended to have guest singers.
And with all the loves and hates and passions just like mine...

If I recall he actually sings the lines "Ooooo, I, I, I like it, when you talk, talk, talk dirty dirty to me "

Just felt compelled to clarify, don't want people spreading confusion out there. Lol
