New Christmas Album

RE: New Christmas Album
The Weezer Christmas album was better than your average Christmas rock album- which may not be saying a lot. Still, I really don't like it when bands feel the need to do a Christmas album, since the results usually end up being hokey.
And with all the loves and hates and passions just like mine...

They remade a few old hits, which were ok, but Santa Claus is coming to town is a joke that doesn't bear re-telling. Telstar Records threw a lot of money at them to do it. Nothing else would have induced them to do that.

Nick Lowe also did a Christmas album, which I have resolutely ignored. God only knows what possessed him.

Don't start me off on the Billy Idol one...

That's what I'm getting at. How often would you ever listen to it other than once a year. If someone's giving you the money to do it, then by all means go ahead but I'd rather see them get money to rerecord some of the best of the poorly produced '80s material and give those songs some new life.
