RE: Cheap Trick Christmas
The current Slade line up are playing at a motorhome show in Lincoln in September that I will be working at, along with the Bay City Rollers. I rub shoulders with all the big names, it was Tom Jones and Rick Astley (who covered AC/DC and Foo Fighters !) at the weekend..

RE: Cheap Trick Christmas
Slade did about the only actual xmas song I think doesn't suck. It would be a good song with different lyrics. I would enjoy hearing them do it. That said, I want you for xmas was cool... even the marionettes plus the smokin hot Jenny the elf.
I am not very interested in an xmas album.

if you lose your head and give up, you niether live nor win. that's just the way it is.

If they cover Christmas With The Devil by Spinal Tap, that would be bloody splendid.

A super spooky cover of Spirit In The Sky with Tom playing the riff on one of Lemmy's Rickebackers & Marshall rigs would be better than apple pancakes

Cross-posting from CT YouTube page...

In a new video interview, Rick blasts through a list of artists they're covering for Christmas: https://youtu.be/AZWcvopHN_Y?t=271

The list includes, seriously, The Eagles.

Bet it's Please Come Home for Christmas.

Which was actually a cover by the Eagles of a 60s era soul tune by Charles Brown (really):

RE: Cheap Trick Christmas
The Waitresses - Christmas wrapping - fabulous bassline.

As to the current line up of Slade - I run The Slade Archive at http://www.slayed.co.uk and I have to say that the current incarnation of the band are hardly mentioned on there. There's a good reason for that. I do think the Wizzard single is better than the Slade one, but the Slade one is the one my band do every year, as it's far easier to play!!

Agreeeeeeeed!!! Big Grin

I played at a show two weeks from Christmas years ago now, but as it was the last for the year, someone suggested playing a Christmas song, and this was the first one I thought of.
