What's so great about this show is "Loser". Too bad it never ended up on any album.

I've been trying to find out what album this was recorded for with no luck.

Was it the debut or In Color?

"Loser" was done with Jack Douglas for the sessions that ended up becoming "Found All The Parts" . There are a few versions of it around but I'm not exactly sure what the others are from. They might just be alternate mixes and takes from the same sessions.

Today I got the Legacy Rock Experience CD that has "Loser" on it. Going to give it a spin tonight.

Which does make me wonder, how many of these CD samplers issued for promotional purposes only have exclusive tracks?

I know about (and in fact, just received today) the Complete Budokan CD sampler having a song only available on the sampler.

Are there others?

Wasn't this the source for the double LP boot California Man 1978 ?

I used to own it but have no idea what has happened to it over the years... Angry

Teri Wrote:It is.  Yesterday I got out my tape to see how well it's held up, and it's still in pretty good shape.  The band sounded great, too.  Still...the tape itself is so old, maybe it's time to get it converted to a CD-rom.  Smile

I had a cassette from a 60 minute radio broadcast from 1979 or 1980 - Cheap Trick Live At The El Mocambo in 1977.
In 2005, I finally connected my cassette to my PC and started transfering the cassette to the hard drive. Then, I burned to a CD.

A present co-worker, who I knew is a CT fan, I made him a copy, and he told me he was at that show and CT played four 45 minute sets. Lots of tunes.
Rick even poked a hole into the ceiling with his guitar and left it hanging, grabbed another guitar and kept on playing.

I believe this version of "Loser"--from the El Mocambo---is on Music For Gurms

the California Man boot is mostly from Boston 6/10/78, and the remainder is KBFH/Wolfgang's Vault show discussed in this thread
